The main product of the factory is amorphous silica with the trademark “Amosil” also known as “white soot”.
AMOSIL 135 – is precipitated silica with a medium surface area and a fine size. Its primary application is for the rubber industry as a medium to high reinforcing agent. Other typical applications: cover, belt and hose compounds, seal and gasket materials, textiles and industrial rubber goods and cables.
AMOSIL 170 – is precipitated silica with a high surface area and a fine particle size. It is a high reinforcing agent for rubber and non-black plastic applications. Other typical applications: footwear, flooring, cables, belts, hoses, including miscellaneous technical rubber items.AMOSIL 220 – is precipitated silica with a high surface area and a fine particle size. It is utilized as carriers, anti-caking or free-flow agents in cosmetics and food applications and as abrasive or thickener in toothpastes.
SODIUM SILICATE SOLUTION - 25% used in construction works. It is used in metallurgy, blast furnaces, construction works, etc. It can be transported in tanks, palette cans of up to 1ton and small packages at the customers request.
The technological equipment in White Soot workshop is mainly from Italy, Germany and Bulgaria.
The manufacturing process consists of three main stages:Raw material preparation. The water glass is dissolved in autoclaves at a temperature of 150°C-160°C and pressure of 6 Atm. The obtained concentrate is filtered.
Precipitation of silica. The precipitation is done in a synthetic column (31.5 m3). The raw materials are chemically purified water and carbon dioxide (300 m3/h - 400m3/h). Water glass is added until the desired temperature is reached. The synthesis lasts about 2.5 hours.
Washing and filtering. The water soluble salts are washed to concentration of 3 - 3.5% in the form of Na2SO4 and the concentration of the suspension of SiO2.
The washed and concentrated suspension is acidified to the needed pH and sent to the dispersion drying installation. The dried product is collected in a silo. The fumes are purified in a dry filter sleeve.
